    Are all chiropractors the same?

Just like all other forms of medicine, chiropractic care has evolved over the years. For this reason we will say that no, not all chiropractors are the same. We use different techniques, different technologies and we all specialize in different areas.

    What about Impact?

We have invested in the future of chiropractic care by investing in state-of-the-art technology that we use in our practice. Apart from that, each of our doctors specialize in different areas and are up to date on all of the latest techniques. Learn about our technology here.

    What is chiropractic care?

The nervous system is the single most important system in your body. It controls every other system and cell in your body. If it is not functioning the way that it should, then you cannot function the way that you would like.

Chiropractic care is the healing of your nervous system by removal of subluxation. At Impact Family Chiropractic we utilize a different technique that is not painful, does not “pop” and is gentle enough to use on a baby. Learn more here.

    What is a chiropractic adjustment?

Chiropractic adjustment is designed to locate, analyze, and then remove a subluxation.

Subluxation is a small misalignment of the spine that can put pressure on the nervous system. That pressure can challenge the nervous system at that particular level of the spine as well as globally. There are a variety of techniques Chiropractors use but the intent is the same.

    Do adjustments hurt?

A lot of people have been turned off to chiropractic care because they have been before, and it was painful.

You might feel better after but is it worth it?

The short answer to the question, “Should adjustments hurt?” is NO!

Dr. Aaron Cain of Impact Family Chiropractic wrote about this here

Why do adjustments sometimes make a popping sound?

The “pop” of an adjustment (or cracking your back) is because there is a capsule in every joint that houses synovial fluid. The fluid acts as a lubricant to make sure that two surfaces don’t rub together and wear down. The fluid is encased by a synovial membrane and cartilage. Pressure can build up inside the capsule and feel like it needs to “pop”. When you hear that popping sound that is the sound of that pressure and gas being released from the capsule.

BUT, not all adjustments are made equally!

It is important to note that not all chiropractic offices utilize the same technique. For example our office uses a low forces, specific adjustment that does not require twisting, cracking or popping.

Read more about our technique here.

Do any Round Rock chiros practice the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment of the sacrum, which is safe and effective to use during pregnancy.

Being certified means that the chiropractor has attained 180 hours of additional education specific to Webster’s manipulations and has passed a certification exam.

There are many chiropractors in the Round Rock area but less than 5 are certified in the Webster Technique. One of these is Impact’s very own Dr. Lisa Bingham! Get to know her here.

Is it safe for kids to see a chiro?

If you are a parent, you understand the importance of teaching your children healthy habits. It’s a huge responsibility to help them to learn how to eat right, exercise regularly, and give their body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to thrive. But what you may not know is that spinal health is also incredibly important to the health of the overall body, for both children and adults. The spine is the foundation of the body and should be well maintained.

Chiropractic care from Impact Family Chiropractic in Round Rock ensures proper spinal health. Children with excellent spinal health are better able to function and grow as they should. Additionally, children who are under regular chiropractic care from a young age are more likely to grow up to be healthier adults. Learn more here.

At Impact we specialize in three areas of chiropractic care, one of them being the practice of pediatric chiropractic technique.

Masks are required and we thoroughly sanitize each station in between member’s use.

We also remain at heart a family practice and want to make sure each current and future practice member is able to come in for their regular visits with peace of mind surrounding the health and safety of their family. Please understand that some of our practice members are unable to wear a mask due to medical/physical limitations and we ask that you extend the respect and courtesy to each person in our offices as if they were a member of your own family.

If you are a current member you will have the option to check in virtually (from your car) to cut down on in-office wait times. If you are a first time visitor please come in and check in with our office staff so that we can gather your information before your first visit.
